About Us

Queso Hombre means Cheese Man in Spanish, which is my last name! By combining my favourite things, cheese, wine and tapas bar culture plus taking a little Spanish flavour from my time traveling and living in Spain. I hope to showcase a few humble ingredients (cheese, bread, ham, pickles) in our street-food style Cheese Bar.

Grilled cheese sandwiches are made fresh, on-site, on a big hot plate for customers to see (and so I can enjoy the sea view). Made with a not-so-secret 3 cheese-mix, soft white bloomer bread from local Gilda Bakery, good salted butter and a range of quality flavourful fillings

A half wheel of raclette cheese bubbles away on the counter as the main spectacle of our cheese bar. It’s scraped to order onto rustic sourdough baguettes from nearby Docker Bakery, with a choice of cured meat, sauce and pickles. The smell is just amazing, if you are a fan of cheese you have to try it.

We also have some tasty bar snacks, Spanish wine, cold beer and cocktails. There’s veggie options on the menu, something for kids and we add changing specials on a regular basis with some interesting flavour combinations and fun fillings to try.

I’ve always worked in hospitality and love being in the kitchen, now it’s time to take a leap and start my own venture. I’m from Ashford originally but live in Canterbury now with my girlfriend Perri and our ginger cat Chilli. We’re really excited to launch Queso Hombre in Folkestone, it’s such a vibrant place to be, with lots of small business and good food outlets to visit.

I hope to attract my fellow cheese lover tribe and I honestly don’t know if you’ll find a better view then down at our spot on the Harbour Arm. If you like cheese, wine and sea views, we’re the place for you!

I’ll be there, grilling the cheese, so pop down and say cheeeeese!
